We hope you’re looking forward to the start of your child’s kindergarten year, and we are too. Because there are a few changes to our usual routines, we’d like to outline the schedule for back-to-school for kindergarten.

This year we will be meeting with small groups of kindergartners by appointment on September 4th, 5th, and 6th, in order to accomplish our state-required assessments, and also to provide more of an opportunity for students to interact with staff and peers, and experience the school environment, prior to the start of school. Staff will then be creating and posting class lists and offering the opportunity for families to drop off school supplies and meet their teacher and other staff members on Friday evening.

Kindergarten Open House Friday, September 6th, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.

A staff member from the school will be in touch with you to arrange a morning or afternoon time slot on one of the days listed above.

Kindergarten Transition Days

Another way that we ensure support in the first days of your child’s kindergarten experience is to limit the number of students coming to school on their first full day. Approximately half of the class will attend on Monday, the other half on Tuesday, providing a much higher ratio of adults to students while kindergartners are learning about their classroom and school, and all the routines and opportunities that will surround them.

  • Monday, September 9th is Kindergarten Transition for students with last names starting with A – L.
  • Tuesday, September 10th is Kindergarten Transition for students with last names starting with M – Z.
  • Wednesday, September 11th all kindergartners come to school together!

See you soon!
