Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Students dancing in celebration of Hispanic culture
Each year, National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 through October 15, honoring the contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
In Salem-Keizer Public Schools, National Hispanic Heritage Month is a special time of celebration of the rich cultural heritage of students and staff. Forty-seven percent of SKPS students and 21 percent of staff identify as Hispanic or and Latino/a/x.
This month, we encourage all members of the Salem-Keizer community to join together in learning about, sharing traditions and celebrating Hispanic heritage!
Continue to check back here throughout the month as we will be highlighting opportunities to celebrate our community.
